Sunday Jul 25, 2021
It’s a classic ‘Date Night’ - and Mark has got a treat for Elaine! This week we’ll be watching ultimate mid-noughties ‘guy movie’ Crank. Does the film hold up? Where does it sit in the Jason Statham pantheon? What awards did it bring home (SPOILER: not many)? And what will Elaine make of this ‘classic’? Get your epinephrine ready, we're in for a bumpy ride....

England's men are in their first major final since 1966 and so, naturally, we're arguing over the lyrics to a long-forgotten 2002 football hit by a pair of Northern TV legends. Well, that and who's phone wasn't on silent.
Seeing as telly has been mostly football, we're doing a movie special. Mark has been to see Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical In The Heights (4:23). Count how many times we mention the massive founding-father shaped elephant in the room. We both went to see F9 / Fast 9 / whatever the ninth (tenth if you count Hobbs and Shaw) instalment in the Fast and Furious saga (15:30). Y'know, as a 'family'... And Mark has just been to see Black Widow (29:41). He gives his opinions, without trying to give anything away to Elaine.
Finally, we discuss the short Jurassic Park: Dominion trailer / preview that plays in front of F9 in IMAX theatres (41:37).
All together now... It's Walker to Stonesy....

This week - in a discussion that won't date this podcast at all – Mark wants to talk about Euro 2020, and Elaine DEFINITELY doesn’t want to derail that conversation.
In reviews, we’ve been watching a few things by ourselves. Mark’s been trying out Netflix’s new fantasy drama Sweet Tooth (5:30). And he’s finally got to see Fargo Season 4 (11.30). Elaine has, predictably, seen Sky Crime’s Murder at the Cottage (19:15). We did, however, manage to sit on the sofa together to catch Loki (31:15). Plus, Mark’s been to the pictures to see The Father (40:40).
Enjoy!

We've been out! To a cinema! Together! To see a brand new film! A Quiet Place Part 2!
In this podcast, we discuss what we remember from the first film, talk about what worked and what didn't in the film, and get waaaaay too excited by some trailers.
NOTE: This podcast contains spoilers for A Quiet Place Part 1 from the beginning, but we clearly say before we go into spoilers for Part 2.

After a short break, we're back to talk all things TV and film...
We start by revisiting Mare of Easttown (3:20). Last time we talked about it, Mark wasn’t keen – but has he changed his mind? Mark LOVED BBC3's new comedy Starstruck (12:39) and he thought Elaine would too. Was he right? Inside No. 9 (19:08) is back for its 6th series. We review the first three episodes.
Then on to films! Elaine reviews Woman in the Window (28:20), Mark’s been to the cinema (yay!) to watch Mortal Kombat (33:27), and we both watched Zack Snyder’s latest zombie movie, Army of the Dead (42:50). PLEASE NOTE that Mark mentions some details that might be considered spoilers for Mortal Kombat from 40:09 – 41:39.

Date Night: Nomadland (2020)
Tuesday May 11, 2021
Tuesday May 11, 2021
The Oscar Best Picture winner is here! Nomadland arrived on Disney + and we decided to sit down for a Date Night and see what all the fuss was about. It might be top of the charts for the Oscars, but where did Nomadland rank in Mark’s algorithm?!
Featuring an argument about background film watching, an unexpected Ross Kemp segway, and alligators, join us as we take in the beautiful vistas of the USA.

Urgent Exit Required: Line of Duty S6E7 THE FINALE!
Monday May 03, 2021
Monday May 03, 2021
And we're done! Season 6 of Line of Duty is over, and we've gone through the episode like a team of forensic officers going through a strongbox hidden underneath a weapons lab.
We cover what worked and what didn't work for us, our thoughts on a potential Season 7, and just why this season has meant so much to so many.
We can't thank you enough for listening. It's been a blast. Sunday nights won't be the same!

Urgent Exit Required: Line of Duty S6E6
Sunday Apr 25, 2021
Sunday Apr 25, 2021
It's the penultimate episode of season 6 of Line of Duty, and there's so much to cover!
What does Jo know? Who's pulling the strings behind the OCG? How should we best pay tribute to a fallen villain? How long is Mark's streak on DuoLingo, and which Line of Duty character does Elaine identify with? And: Is there ANYTHING Amanda can't do?
Thanks so much for listening - we genuinely can't believe how many people are tuning in to our late night rambles!

Friday Apr 23, 2021
This week, we discuss the joys of hiding snacks from your life-partner and lament the loss of 3D sports (who doesn’t want to see Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor the way James Cameron would want you to…). We also find the time to discuss our new favourite reality show This Is My House (02:00). Elaine explains why ITV Drama Too Close (07:00) took a couple of goes. And Mark gets a distinct feeling of deja-vu with Mare of Easttown (12:00). We go through what went wrong and what went right with Godzilla vs. Kong (19:29) and finish up with an in-depth discussion around Promising Young Woman (30:06) including a spoiler section (don’t worry, it’s clearly marked before we go there!).
