SpoilerVision: Unpacking Marvel Studios’ WandaVision
Monday Mar 08, 2021
Monday Mar 08, 2021
Join us as we discuss WandaVision, the Marvel Studios’ TV show that defied all expectations. Is Mark going to sing THAT song? How many times will we mention Lost? And what exactly *are* runes…?
MEGA WARNING: Right from the off, we spoil MAJOR plot points in WandaVision. We also discuss many of the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a massive twist in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, and – weirdly – the end of M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village. Please proceed with caution!
Also… sorry for the sound quality. We didn’t record this in our bathroom – promise! – but we have moved to another part of the house to record and there’s a little more echo than we would like. We’ll sort it for next time!

We're back! Sorry it's a bit late. We'll explain why, and how there could have been a lot more beeping in the background of this podcast...
Mark's been catching up on Season 7 of The Walking Dead (not Season 8 as he says in the podcast! Ooops!) (3:09) and has finally started warming to The Expanse in Season 2 (5:45). Elaine has been, as you'd expect, watching real-life crime documentaries in Forensics: The Real CSI (7:15) and The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel (9:30). But, for once, we've been watching some TV together! Like a proper married couple would! We give our thoughts on Netflix's latest limited series Behind Her Eyes (13:26) and the fourth season of ITV's cold case drama Unforgotten (23:35).
And, for reasons that are explained, Mark has been catching up with some of 2020's 'lesser-loved' films - The Turning (34:18) and Underwater (42:52).

Date Night: Minority Report (2002)
Tuesday Feb 23, 2021
Tuesday Feb 23, 2021
For this week's Date Night, Elaine introduces Mark to early 2000s sci-fi thriller Minority Report.
Join us as we talk about what Spielberg got right in his vision of the future, (and what looks outdated already less than 10 years later), swimwear in 2054, how the Precrime Department pays tribute to the board game Mouse Trap, and the Mark's confectionary purchasing choices. Oh, and of course, the bad guy on the third season of Justified.

We're British and getting on a bit, so in order to live the stereotype we're talking about the weather.
In TV we review DisneyPlus' first televisual instalment of the MCU, WandaVision (5:06). Elaine has been watching BBC documentary Katie Price: Harvey and Me (17:26). And (in a huge mood shift) we share our love for The Masked Singer UK (26:05). PLEASE NOTE: we get a bit carried away in our The Masked Singer discussion, and get into spoilers for previous episodes, so if you're planning on watching it - and you should - you might want to skip this bit and come back later.
Finally, Mark has seen Gerard Butler-fronted disaster movie Greenland (35:00), and has plenty to say about it - if he can get a word in edge-ways.

Monday Feb 01, 2021
Monday Feb 01, 2021
It's Date Night, and Mark has picked a soon-to-be classic animation for Elaine to watch, The Lego Movie!
Did Elaine think 'Everything is Awesome'? Or would she rather have spent the entire experience repeatedly standing on loose pieces of a Danish construction toy? Join us to find out!

“Podfade?”: Finding Alice, The Bay, It’s a Sin, One Night in Miami (2020)
Monday Jan 25, 2021
Monday Jan 25, 2021
… and we’re back! After waaaaaaay too long a break, Mark and Elaine discuss what they watched over Christmas, and talk in depth about some of their new favourite shows. Just how much of Finding Alice (6:32) has Elaine watched and why does Mark keep on shouting “Howay the Bay” when Elaine talks about Season 2 of ITV’s The Bay (13:20)? Surprisingly, neither of those questions get a conclusive answer. We give our first impressions on Channel 4’s big New Year show It’s a Sin (19:09), and Mark talks about Amazon Prime’s new movie One Night in Miami (31:34). Promise we’ll be back soon!

Date Night: Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Saturday Jan 16, 2021
Saturday Jan 16, 2021
Finally, after what seems like a 1,984 year wait, the latest instalment of the DC Extended Universe has arrived in our little part of the world.
Reviews have been 'mixed' so far, to say the least so which side of the debate do we fall on?
What did Elaine make of the eighties setting?
And what does Mark like to do when at an airport heading home from a holiday?
All this and more.
PLEASE NOTE...
Whilst we normally cover spoiler-free thoughts as part of our review, we got a little excited and went straight into what could be considered important plot points straight away in this episode, so be warned!

Best TV shows of 2020
Saturday Jan 02, 2021
Saturday Jan 02, 2021
2020 may be behind us, but with most of the country in Tier 4 lockdown, Mark and Elaine have nothing better to do than judge each other whilst going through their favourite TV shows of the year.
We share our thoughts on the best TV of 2020 covering International heavyweights The Mandalorian, Better Call Saul and The Boys, plus the best of British TV in There She Goes, Save Me Too and, of course, the seemingly unstoppable Normal People.
Thanks for listening, and for more in-depth reviews of each show, check out our episodes from the past year...

Top 10 films of 2020
Tuesday Dec 29, 2020
Tuesday Dec 29, 2020
2020 is nearly over (yay!), so we're taking the opportunity to rank, discuss, and in some cases, disagree on our favourite movies of the year.
Which film did Mark think can only be described with the use of the F-word?
Has Elaine even seen 10 films this year?
Will we finish the podcast in time to catch the end of the darts?
Answers to these questions, and many more, lie within.
