Sunday Oct 11, 2020
Sunday Oct 11, 2020
We’ve had our first major podcasting fail and lost the Date Night episode that *should* have come out this weekend. However… to cheer ourselves up, we decided to record another! Take a trip to Padua as we tackle Mark’s favourite film of the 90s (and Top 5 film of all time, no less!).

‘3 Of A Kind’: The Third Day, Ladhood, Little Mix The Search, Rocks (2020)
Monday Oct 05, 2020
Monday Oct 05, 2020
This week, we muse over the first part of Jude Law drama The Third Day (2:41). Mark has binged the box-set of BBC Three’s Ladhood (13:00) and thinks you should too (but act quickly!). And Elaine realises just how far reality TV has come in BBC One’s Little Mix The Search (18:02). Meanwhile, Mark’s been waiting months to see UK film Rocks (28:25) and now can’t wait to tell everyone how much he loves it.
Also, find out which early 2000s songs Elaine hates, and why Mark has been singing them.

In this week’s show, we continue to lament further delays to a number of films, including the news that No Time To Die has moved to Easter 2021. Elaine is not a fan of The Witches remake. Mark questions Elaine’s definition of a “cult classic”. And we are both excited about the WandaVision trailer.

This week, we celebrate the return of devilishly difficult quiz show Only Connect (2:06) and treasured amateur baking competition The Great British Bake Off (9:12). After it swept the board at the Emmys, Mark’s been testing out Schitt’s Creek (18:48). And Mark also found himself charmed by the new sleuth on the block, Netflix’s Enola Holmes (24:14). Keep an ear open for the part where Elaine gets Sherlock Holmes’ incredibly famous home address wrong.
The show also unexpectedly features more Blink 182 references than we could ever have anticipated. Something for everyone!
Enjoy yourselves!

We’re subject to local restrictions in the North East of England, so Elaine’s been to buy cake…
This week, Elaine’s being ‘enjoying’ ITV’s serial killer drama Des (4:15), we’re intrigued by experimental Sky Atlantic/HBO mini-series The Third Day (14:45), and Elaine is way too invested in the will-they-won’t-they romance in BBC’s Strike (24:26).
We’ve also been back to the cinema. This time, we saw Bill and Ted Face the Music (30:14). Safe to say, we are *not* on the same page with this one. Bogus!

In this week’s show, we discuss Tenet’s box office takings and lament the delays to Wonder Woman 1984 and (possibly) Black Widow. Elaine is confused about Dune. Mark is excited about Willy Fog. We have things to say about the recently announced Madonna biopic. And Mark gets a shock during our chat about Scream 5.

Date Night: Point Break (1991)
Monday Sep 14, 2020
Monday Sep 14, 2020
Elaine’s totally bodacious pick this week is the original Point Break! Come ride the waves and get radical (we'll stop now...) with Johnny Utah and Bodhi. Enjoy!

So sorry the pod is late, we’ve had an eventful few days!
This week, we have a difference of opinion over episodes 3 & 4 of Lovecraft Country (4:45), Mark’s happy to see the return of Amazon Prime’s The Boys (10:40), and Elaine declares her love for Gregg Wallace’s buttery biscuit base in her review of BBC1’s Eat Well For Less? (16:10).
And Mark’s been back to the cinema to see The New Mutants (23:37). With an infamously troubled production, and rumours of re-shoots, cuts, and major edits, what did Mark think of this latest (and last?) film in The X Men universe?

Cheers!
In this week’s show, Mark teaches Elaine about piracy in our continuing discussions about Mulan on Disney + (2:00), Elaine gets over-excited about The Batman trailer (9:30), Mark is intrigued by The Suicide Squad trailer (20:41), Mark really doesn't want French & Saunders to be in Death on the Nile (20:41), and we are a bit ‘meh’ about No Time To Die (24:44).
