It's going to be a little while until we can come back with a full show, so as an interim treat we thought we'd record our thoughts on some of the recently released film & TV trailers.
Film trailers: Deadpool & Wolverine, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and Wicked
TV trailers: Manhunt (Apple), Mary & George (Sky Atlantic), Shardlake (Disney +)
And Mark has thoughts on the (just announced) casting of Marvel's upcoming Fantastic Four...
Enjoy!

We start the pod with WWE news (obvs!). The WWE is off to Netflix - but recent allegations leave Mark reflecting on whether he can continue watching...
In TV, we discuss the finale of S2 The Traitors (7:35) and share our views on the first few episodes of HBO’s True Detective: Night Country (19:30).
In film, Mark reviews newly Oscar-nominated The Holdovers (29:36). And we’ve both been to see Andrew Haigh’s astonishing All of Us Strangers (37:00). We recommend avoiding as much as you can about both films before you see them, so our reviews are very light on plot and we try to avoid spoilers as much as possible.
We wanted to discuss the finer points of All of Us Strangers, though, so there’s a small spoiler section at the end of the episode, starting at 48:37. Please leave us at this point if you haven’t seen the film, but save the episode and come back for our thoughts later!
Enjoy!

Welcome to our first episode of 2024! We start the pod with a discussion around New Year’s Resolutions - and a birthday cake muffin…
In TV, Elaine wants everyone to watch BBC drama Men Up (2:30) which was shown in the In-Between Times and therefore criminally overlooked. We also share our thoughts on appointment telly The Traitors S2 - including some delightful references to Nasty Nick and Anna the Nun for all you Y2K fans (9:44). WARNING: if you’re not up to date on S2 The Traitors, we recommend you skip our review and come back later. We do mention banished and murdered contestants, as well as traitors, by name.
In film, Mark reviews The Boy and the Heron (21:36) and Poor Things (28:22). And then we take a trip down memory lane to discuss our relationship with the Godzilla films before reviewing monster hit (do you see what we did there?) Godzilla Minus One (38:00).
Enjoy!

In this episode, we pay homage to the power of television when going through tough times. Plus, in not unrelated news, Sky Arts’ Portrait Artist of the Year.
In TV, Elaine’s been on a documentary extravaganza, with Netflix’s Beckham (12:33), Disney+’s Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story (22:55), and Amazon Prime’s The Greatest Show Never Made (29:34). We also have a brief chat about mind-bending Netflix drama Bodies (36:29), but will be coming back to this when Mark’s had a chance to watch it himself.
In film, biographical drama BlackBerry (40:45) makes Mark reminisce about the time you couldn't send emails on your phone, whilst comedy-horror Totally Killer (48:45) causes controversy with a key plotline. And we finish with our thoughts on Gareth Edwards’ The Creator (54:00).

In telly, Mark’s been checking out psychological thriller Wilderness (9:30), whilst Elaine’s got mixed feelings on the latest Star Wars offering, Ahsoka (14:25).
In film, Mark has an unexpectedly strong reaction to Dumb Money (21:51), and we disagree about Ken Branagh’s new Poirot outing, A Haunting in Venice (34:20).
