Welcome back! This week, we discuss Mark’s availability to play Santa, some great telly, some questionable Christmas films, and, oh yes, that really unknown film Avatar: The Way of Water.
In TV, Elaine’s very happy to see the return of Tom Burke’s troubled private detective Strike (6:10) whilst Mark is charmed by The Flatshare (15:27).
In film, Mark’s been on a Christmas extravaganza, taking in Violent Night (21:25), Falling for Christmas (25:08), and A Christmas Story Christmas (27:46).
And finally, we discuss James Cameron’s very small movie, Avatar: The Way of Water. Spoiler free thoughts from 32:30 and then full on spoilers from 1:06.

Your sleep deprived podcasters return with our latest telly and movie reviews. In TV, Elaine’s been enjoying true crime mini-series Under the Banner of Heaven (6:07) and we’ve both taken in the first episode of BBC1’s new observational drama Marriage (9:53). In the film section, we cover Bullet Train (21:12), Not Okay (25:32) and Prey (28:37). All spoiler free.
We finish with our review of Jordan Peele’s latest movie, Nope. Our spoiler free thoughts start at 41:18 BUT we do take a deep dive into spoilers from 53:48 so please avoid if you haven’t see the film. Oh, and Mark spoils the ending of M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village. Did we mention we were very tired? Nope?

We start the episode with wrestling news! Yes, Mark finally gets to wax lyrical about WWE on the pod. He shares his thoughts on the ‘retirement’ of Vince McMahon, and he also has a big wrestling related reveal…
But don’t worry, we do get round to our usual TV and film reviews eventually – and it’s a bumper episode! In TV, Mark reflects on Season 6 of Better Call Saul (12:10), we both revisit Westworld Season 4 (17:51), and Sky SciFi’s new show, horror-drama From causes a stir in The Gregersen household…
In film, we cover Thor: Love and Thunder (36:26), Where the Crawdads Sing (43:00), and The Gray Man (50:08). Plus much unpacking of Richard Marx’s seminal song Hazard. Obviously.

It's Mark's birthday! Well, not today. Well, OK, if you're listening to this some time in the future, then it actually might be.
In TV, Mark wants Elaine to sell the Beeb’s crime drama Sherwood (2:22) to him. We discuss the new MCU Disney+ show Ms Marvel (8:55), as well as Westworld's return for season 4 (15:53). It might help to imagine Elaine staring wistfully at a picture of Westworld S1, wondering where it all went wrong....
For films, Mark wonders if Elaine knows what Lightyear (27:54) actually *is*? He also reviews Netflix’s Hustle (34:00) (which isn't a BBC show about con artists). Finally, we discuss our cinema trip to watch Elvis (39:44). Can they help falling in love with the film? And can anyone actually think of an Elvis song with a negative title to complete these notes? We can't!
